CHARACTER AND FEELCité du Multimédia is a small neighbourhood just west of
Vieux Montréal. Until very recently, the neighborohood was
almost completely an office district, but in the last few
years quite a few building have been converted for residential
use.
The name comes from Cité Multimédia - a 1M+ sq/ft
tech/office complex that occupies the southern part of the neighbourhood.
POPULATION AND DEMOGRAPHICSThe neighbourhood has about 6,000 workers whose average age is 32 and
whose household income is $73,000 - almost a quarter
above the city average.

Those living in the neighbourhood have a similar profile, perhaps even more affluent,
since most residential buildings are former industrial spaces converted into
relatively expensive loft apartments.
APARTMENTS & REAL ESTATEMostly warehouses converted to lofts. Some new buildings
(e.g. 630 William St) trying to imitate the same look. Prices
here are on the high side, most apartments rent for over
$1,000 per month and sell for well over $250,000.
