CHARACTER AND FEEL

Griffintown is an old Irish neighbourhood in the center-south of Montreal. For several decades it has been slowly dying due to a series of urban planning mistakes and bad zoning policies. However, in the last few years, the interest in revitalizing (and repopulating) Griffintown has increased dramatically.

Although there are still relatively few apartment buildings in Griffintown (for years it has been zoned as an industrial neighbourhood), they are starting to appear, particularly along the southernmost section of Peel Street.
