2008 Recommended Rent Increases Announced

The Quebec rental board has issued its recommended rent increases for 2008.

For unheated dwellings not affected by tax increases and/or major renovations, the recommended increase is 0.7% (which corresponds $70 on a $1,000-month apartment).

Rental increases for heated apartments are as follows:

• Heated with electricity 0.8 %
• Heated with gas 0.5 %
• Heated with oil 1.3 %
