The Gazette is reporting that public consultations are about to begin on a $1.6B redevelopment plan for the Maison Radio-Canada site.

The latest plan envisages construction of about 2,000 housing units, in addition to office, commercial and public space. The additional buildings would not replace but surround the existing 24-tower tower at 1400 Blvd René-Lévesque Est, although Radio-Canada and CMB relocate within the area, freeing the 1973 skyscraper to be converted into something else (on the drawing board right now: conversion into a residential building or a hotel).
