The Gazette is reporting that public consultations are about to begin on a $1.6B redevelopment plan for the Maison Radio-Canada site. * * * The latest plan envisages construction of about 2,000 housing units, in addition to office, commercial and public space. The additional buildings would not replace but surround the existing 24-tower tower at 1400 Blvd René-Lévesque Est, although Radio-Canada and CMB relocate within the area, freeing the 1973 skyscraper to be converted into something else (on the drawing board right now: conversion into a residential building or a hotel).Source:
