The Gazette reports the findings of the Institut de la statistique du Québec which show a net loss of 20,000 residents for the island of Montreal from 2006 to 2007 (an internal loss of 1.29%). The data from the Régie de l'assurance maladie suggests these people moved to the surrounding regions.
